THE PIED-BILLED GREBE
This cute (looks like a bit of a snake in this image) diving duck-like bird showed up on Lake Thoreau Feb 28th.
It was sited again on March 1st, diving in front of our dockboat then swimming off to the center of the lake. There may be two additional grebes. On March 2nd, about noon, there were two Pied-billed Grebes swimming very close together nearer the norther shore and off to our left, and moving off to west.
Please send me a comment if you think what I have identified as a Pied-billed Grebe might be another type of waterfowl.
