Shared Pictures from Other Wildlife Fans
Other wildlife fans are graciously emailing their photos to share with visitors to the Lake Thoreau Wildlife Blog:
This great eagle picture was spotted in the Burns yard off Lake Audubon. Bill Clark, an expert in raptor identification, said that with the brown feathers still on its head it is a four-year old eagle.
Leif, a USNA (’73) classmate of my husband’s, sent a few beautiful pictures – the first is of cherry tree blossoms surrounding two mallards at the Jefferson Memorial.
The second is of a pair of mallards standing and either looking at the cherry blossoms or at the silly tourists. Their eyes are so expressive – he might be saying leave her alone – she is my mate – both seem so proud and confident.
